A new car plant will open in Kyrgyzstan, which will produce Chevrolet cars. The start of production is scheduled for 2023. The technological partner of the project is the Uzbek company Uzavtosanoat, which produces Chevrolet cars at UzAuto Motors plants.
Experts suggest that some of the produced cars may enter the Russian car market.

The main export market is Russia, which can eat up any volume of supplies. Any project that the Uzbeks are building is definitely not for the domestic market, because the Kyrgyz market is very small, – says auto expert Igor Morzharetto.
True, if this happens, then Chevrolet models will most likely be delivered to Russia under a different auto brand in order to avoid unpleasant showdowns with General Motors.
At the first stage, 10,000 vehicles per year will be produced at a production site 50 kilometers from Bishkek. It will be a SKD assembly of Chevrolet passenger cars and Isuzu commercial vehicles. The cost of the first will start from 13 thousand dollars (about 1 million rubles), and the second – from 28 thousand dollars or 2.15 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
In the future, localization should grow to 15-20%, and production volume – up to 20 thousand cars per year.
