Like all manufacturers, Audi quickly takes the turn of the electric. A forced passage due to increasingly severe European regulations. Result: in 2025, the manufacturer of Ingolstadt will have no less than 20 electric models in its range and the following year will even mark the end of the thermal for the firm with the rings, date on which Audi will become a 100% electric brand.
This turning point began 3 years ago with the e-tron, Audi’s first electric model which was presented on the occasion of the 2018 World Cup. This SUV was then declined as a coupe called Sportback and the range was completed. this year by the e-tron GT, the first 100% electric sedan from the German firm. Today, Audi continues to develop its range of zero emission vehicles with the Q4 e-tron, a compact SUV that will become the most accessible electric model.
The introduction of this also marks a change in the name of this range which will now take over the standards of the other models, namely A for sedans and Q for SUVs. No more specific names. We already know for example that the next electric SUV will be called Q6 e-tron.

Coming back to the Q4, although it was developed from the MEB platform which was also used for the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq, it has an identity of its own, close to the other models of the brand with a wide octagonal grille typical of SUVs with rings, but which is here fully closed, logical because it is an electric. Audi has also particularly worked on the light signature since this Q4 can receive Matrix LED headlamps that can be personalized according to four possibilities. This goes hand in hand with a light strip that joins the rear lights. The set is elegant and remains in the tradition of the SUV of the brand with the rings.

Plenty of room for 5 passengers
With a length of 4.59 m, the Q4 logically comes between the Q3 (4.49 m) and the Q5 (4.69 m) with differences of 10 cm compared to these two brothers. The front and rear overhangs are very short and the 2.76 m wheelbase allows it to benefit from a beautiful rear roominess, as is already the case with its Skoda or Volkswagen cousins.

Passengers will therefore benefit from generous legroom and headroom, and the icing on the cake, the floor is flat, which means that the rear central seat can be used without any problem. The same goes for the loading volume with a capacity varying between 520 to 1490 liters, an interesting volume for the category.
A modern and technological interior

The occupants of the front seats will have in front of them a dashboard close to that of the compact, the A3, at the level of its organization. It is characterized by a very horizontal shape with 100% digital instrumentation and aerators that run over the entire width. They will be criticized for their fairly basic integration. However, this organization differs from that of the brand’s compact by its floating console, its 11.6-inch multimedia screen, and its specific double-flattened steering wheel equipped with illuminated keys only when the ignition is on.
