A new letter will have to be added to the Mercedes catalog. The manufacturer is in fact preparing an MPV version of the Citan, its utility, cousin of the Renault Kangoo. The T-Class will be a “premium” interpretation of the Kangoo which will therefore be entitled to a battery-powered version. Mercedes makes it official today with a first image of the EQT.
The EQT based on a “skateboard” type platform (a kind of board that houses the batteries), Mercedes has chosen an interesting parallel since it is the skater Tony Hawk who will take care of the communication with a special video.
This EQT will thus be a cousin of the new Renault Kangoo ZE For now, the German brand is content with a concept, which will foreshadow a production variant in the near future. Mercedes also specifies that this concept is already close to final production.
