After Valery Meladze supported Ukraine, his concerts in Russia were canceled. The artist did not lose heart and went to perform abroad.
73-year-old Russian singer Alla Pugacheva went to Valery Meladze’s concert in Israel and shared a video taken from the auditorium. Thus, she decided to answer her compatriots, who assured that after the artist supported Ukraine, his popularity waned, and his career came to an end.
“It must upset the liars who talk about the “failed” concerts of Valery Meladze in Israel. It was a holiday! The songs of Konstantin Meladze performed by Valera, wonderful wine. Over the years, they only become tastier and more valuable. Salute! Faith! Love!” – says in the caption to the publication with several videos.
As can be seen in the footage, Meladze’s concert was held with a full house. The audience danced with pleasure to his songs and filmed the performance.
Valery Meladze fell out of favor with Russians who support Vladimir Putin’s military aggression against Ukraine when he called for it to be stopped.
“Today something happened that could not and should never have happened. History will someday judge and put everything in its place. Well, today I want to ask you, I beg you to stop hostilities and sit down at the negotiating table. People should be able to negotiate For this, we have been given a language, for this we have been given all the abilities. People must not die. This must be stopped,” he said on February 24, 2022 in a corresponding video on his page on the social network.
After that, he was blacklisted in the Russian Federation, and many propagandists called on the authorities to deprive him of Russian citizenship.
Meladze added fuel to the fire when, during a concert in Dubai, the words “Glory to Ukraine!” one of the fans quietly answered “Glory to the Heroes!” The artist received threats from Russian Senator Elena Afanasyeva and State Duma Deputy Sergei Mironov, but the musician replied that he was not going to please anyone and did not want to hate anyone, but dreamed of reconciliation and harmony. At the same time, he called Ukrainians and Russians close peoples.
Earlier Focus wrote that after the words “Glory to Ukraine!” Meladze canceled concerts in Russia, after which he went on tour abroad.
