Ford is recalling nearly 1.3 million units of the Ford Fusion (similar to our Mondeo) and its more luxurious version of the 2013-2018 Lincoln MKZ in the US. The reason is serious: the front brake hoses can break and, accordingly, allow fluid to leak.
Recall vehicles will have their front left hose replaced. The new one is wrapped in a stronger braid.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) notes that the problem may not manifest itself immediately, but the operation of the brake pedal will gradually change, then the low brake fluid warning light will light up.
