120 thousand cars are suspected of a steering column defect.
Because of the falling off steering wheels on the Tesla Model Y, the company will be investigated. It was initiated by NHTSA (US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
Attention will be paid to 120 thousand copies. Presumably, there is a manufacturing defect: the steering wheel is not fixed to the column with a locking bolt.
At the moment, experts assess the magnitude of the problem. The regulator may require Tesla to conduct a recall campaign to fix the defect.
