Since 2014, Ukrainian engineers have proposed many good UAV models, but now everything depends on the state of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.
Promising military drones have already been developed in Ukraine, but no one has yet been able to establish full-fledged serial production. Alexander Kovalenko, military-political observer of the Information Resistance group, announced this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
According to him, back in 2014, Ukraine began developing strike drones, for example, designed for fire support during the evacuation of the wounded in the daytime. There were many projects, some devices had great firepower and demonstrated, as Kovalenko put it, “interesting potential” during the tests.
“Alas, they were not launched in series, unfortunately. And today their presence in the combat zone is not as great as we would like,” Alexander commented.
He added that the possibility of launching serial production of combat UAVs in Ukraine depends heavily on the state of the military-industrial complex after regular shelling from Russia. The Ukrainians will be able to find out how badly these enterprises have suffered only after the end of the war, but for now it is difficult to make forecasts.
It became known yesterday that the charitable organization “Khvilya’91” launched a factory for the production of combat drones in Ukraine. They are already assembling “kamikaze” worth up to $200 from parts received from Asian partners. They lift up to 1.2 kg of explosives and have already shown themselves well at the front during tests.
In January, the founder of the A.Drones project and Ukrainian soldier Yuri Kasyanov announced the construction of his own plant for the production of shock drones. In about three months, he plans to release thousands of UAVs capable of autonomously detecting and attacking targets.
