Alejandra’s birthday was a little overshadowed by her lover’s illness.
Alejandra Silva, wife of 73-year-old Hollywood actor Richard Gere, shared footage from Mexico, where she celebrated her 40th birthday with her husband and two sons. She posted the pictures on her Instagram page.
Since it was recently revealed that Richard had been hospitalized with pneumonia, Alejandra wrote in the caption that he “mostly recovered.” The actor ended up in a hospital near their country house in Nuevo Vallarta. Before the trip to Mexico, he suffered from a cough, but his health deteriorated so much that Gere felt the need to seek medical attention.
The star spent the night in the hospital, after which he was prescribed antibiotics and was allowed to go home.
In the photo you can see the hugging couple, as well as how Alejandra rejoices at the cake. She also showed beautiful landscapes where the family rested.
“What a wonderful birthday! Thanks to all my friends and family for making it so special!” – says the signature.
Alejandra, a Spanish publicist and longtime friend of the Gere family, married him in 2018 on his massive upstate New York ranch. The couple have two sons – four-year-old Alexander and a two-year-old son, whose name was not disclosed.
Prior to his relationship with Silva, Gere was married to 1990s supermodel Cindy Crawford and actress Carey Lowell. According to Alejandra, despite the 33-year age difference, Gere promised her that he would be around long enough to see their two children grow up to be adults.
Previously Focus wrote that Alejandra showed her grown sons.
