Details
S-Class (W223) – which the new “Eshka” will look like.
Mid-size sedans and station wagons of the E-class, produced under the Mercedes-Benz brand, are preparing for a major update. It is scheduled for 2023, the new items will receive the factory index W214, and the evolution of the family itself will borrow a lot from the new S-class and the electric analogue of the E-class – EQE, which appeared in its updated look in 2021. By the way, this premiere seemed unusually modest to many observers, and some experts called the executive class car itself a big C-class.

Another representative of the business class from Mercedes is being prepared in parallel with its main competitor, the BMW 5 Series (a new generation of the “five” is also expected in 2023).
However, in Stuttgart, it seems that they do not pay attention to the comparisons that suggest themselves and act according to their plan. And it includes the transformation of the exterior, which will echo the appearance of the flagship S-class, as well as a serious revision of the engine range, finally losing eight-cylinder engines and taking mild and rechargeable hybrids based on the “fours” as a basis.
External design
Mercedes-Benz E-Class cars of the 2023 model year, dressed in camouflage, are already driving on American and European DOPs – sedan versions are being tested in the USA, and station wagons have been seen in Germany. Despite the disguise, the style of the current S-Class is clearly visible, moreover, starting with the proportions of the body.
The branded radiator grille, which will traditionally differ in design on AMG versions, will also be very similar. The optical elements will also be similar, although differences in the shape of the LED blocks are still expected. As for retractable door handles, they will most likely be made a paid option for the business class.
Salon
There is still very little information about the interior of the new E-Class, but scraps of spy information suggest that there will be a large dual display on the front panel. Consequently, a huge single tablet and a separate tidy will remain the prerogative of S-class cars, but premium gatherings will definitely share their technologies. For example, modern driver assistance systems may appear on business-class cars.
Technical stuffing and characteristics
In the range of power plants of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, there will be “soft” and PHEV hybrids using four-cylinder engines of different forcing. For the AMG 63, a 2.0-liter turbo unit will be prepared, to which a full-fledged electric motor will be added.
The estimated power of such a charged “Eshki” will be about 670 liters. With. or 500 kilowatts. For those who want to own a V8-powered E-class, the last chance is to buy the still offered limited edition AMG E63 S Final Edition sedan, where the engine produces 612 hp. power and 850 Nm of torque.
Release date and start of sales
Considering that the current generation of the business class from Mercedes-Benz are restyled cars that appeared in 2020, while the W213 series itself entered the market in 2016, the new W214 should go on sale in early 2023. Most likely, it will be a spring or winter presentation, which will be held simultaneously on several continents.
