Igor Romanenko believes that Ukraine’s victory on the battlefield will play into the hands of Europe and the United States, so they are obliged to continue supplying weapons to the end.
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko told what he personally expects from the second year of a full-scale war in Ukraine. He announced his forecast in his new interview for the Obozrevatel portal.
The general noted that Ukraine must definitely end the war this year, but there is an important nuance that must be taken into account. Everything will depend on the allies of Ukraine, who must continue to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with modern and effective weapons.
At the same time, Igor Romanenko, in a conversation with journalists, reproached the actions of the West, which during the fall delayed the supply of weapons. In their opinion, winter is not the best time for fierce hostilities, but during this period, the Russian invaders were intensively advancing in the eastern direction.
“There will be arms deliveries – there will be our common victory, including in favor of Europe and America. If not, this will fall a heavy burden on Ukraine and its people, and on our allies,” the lieutenant general said.
He has no doubts about the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but the longer the defenders wait for supplies, the more losses our side will have.
Recall that on February 22, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, spoke about the future turning point in the war with the Russian Federation. Spring may determine the outcome of this war in favor of Ukraine.
Also on February 22, the Foreign Ministry predicted the delivery of fighter jets to Ukraine. Before deciding to send aviation, Ukraine needs to work with the population of countries that will provide their aircraft so that the public supports such a step.
