So far, the details have not been published, but the restrictions, among other things, will affect those involved in the abductions of Ukrainian children.
In his traditional evening address to Ukrainians on February 26, President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had signed three decrees on the implementation of the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on sanctions against the Russian Federation.
“Today there are new decisions of our state regarding sanctions against those who are involved or help Russia to wage war and destroy lives and people. I signed three decrees on the implementation of the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council,” Zelensky said.
The sanctions will affect the following groups:
Russians involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children; representatives of the Russian sports sector who are trying to put sport at the service of aggression; those who help maintain mercenary structures in Russia for the war against Ukraine and all free people.
“The pressure of Ukraine will continue. The pressure of the world on the terrorist state will continue,” Zelensky said. So far, the decrees have not been published on the website of the Office of the President.
The President of Ukraine also thanked everyone who helps bring victory over Russia closer. He especially noted the heroism of the Ukrainian military from the 110th separate mechanized brigade, who shot down another Russian military aircraft near Avdiivka.
He thanked the journalists, specifying that Russia failed to “informatively close our people and our land in that part of Ukraine where there is still a tricolor of terrorists.”
“We must do – and will do everything to increase the access of our people to truthful information,” the president said.
He also mentioned in the video message all the politicians who visited Ukraine this week. Recall that the series of visits began with US President Joe Biden, who was in Kyiv on Monday.
And on February 26, the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, spoke about the visit of the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia and about the promised assistance from this country in the amount of $400 million.
