The President is convinced that peace in Ukraine will be restored when Crimea becomes Ukrainian again. The head of state also promised to return the state flag to every corner of our country.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on February 26 published a post on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the Day of Crimean resistance to the Russian occupation. The head of state said that peace in Ukraine will be achieved when Crimea returns to its composition.
“Nine years ago, Russian aggression began in Crimea. By returning Crimea, we will restore peace,” Zelensky wrote.
The guarantor promised to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine and plant the Ukrainian flag in every corner of our country.
“This is our land. Our people. Our history. We will return the Ukrainian flag to every corner of Ukraine,” the president added.
Crimean Resistance Day
Recall that on February 26, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Crimean resistance to the Russian occupation of Crimea. It was on this day in 2014 that a rally was held under the walls of the Crimean Parliament in order to preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine, in which several thousand Ukrainian citizens took part.
Pro-Ukrainian forces gathered near the Crimean parliament and eventually succeeded in delaying the meeting of deputies, during which it was planned to consider the issue of the political future of the peninsula.
At the same time, on the same day, pro-Russian forces led by Sergei Aksyonov also appeared near the parliament. Between the participants in the rallies, with the complete self-elimination of the security forces, clashes arose, as a result of which about 30 people were injured. Two more people died, one man had a heart attack, and another woman was trampled by a crowd of protesters.
