Dmitry Lissitzky commanded a battalion tactical group of the 247th regiment, which attacked Ukrainian units that were leaving the encirclement in Ilovaisk along the humanitarian corridor.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine liquidated the officer of the occupying army Dmitry Lissitzky, who arranged the Ilovaisk cauldron for Ukrainian fighters in 2014. This was announced today, on March 26, by military journalist Yuri Butusov.
“Today, Ukrainian soldiers again avenged Ilovaisk – they liquidated the commander of the 1st battalion of the 247th airborne assault regiment, Dmitry Lissitzky,” Butusov said.

Lissitzky commanded a battalion tactical group of the 247th regiment, which attacked Ukrainian units that were leaving the encirclement in Ilovaisk near the village of Gorbatenko by agreement. For this, in January 2015 he was awarded the title Hero of Russia.
Butusov stressed that the 247th regiment is now suffering heavy losses in Ukraine and the liquidation of Lissitzky will seriously affect its combat capability.

On August 18, during fierce fighting, Ukrainian forces, a significant part of which consisted of volunteer battalions, entered Ilovaisk. They were able to take control of part of the city, however, after the event of significant forces of regular Russian troops on August 23-24 in the rear of the Ukrainian group from the territory of the Russian Federation. Thus, the Ukrainian soldiers were surrounded.
On the night of August 28-29, Putin called on the “militia forces” to open a humanitarian corridor for the Ukrainian military. After that, on the morning of August 29, they began to move out of the city in organized columns along the routes previously agreed with the Russian side. At first, the Ukrainian columns moved freely past the Russian fortified positions, but after a while, the Russian troops opened fire, shooting the columns on the march.
Then 366 Ukrainian soldiers died, about 450 were wounded, 300 were captured. The temporary investigative commission for the investigation of the Ilovaisk tragedy estimated the total losses of the Ukrainian troops at a thousand people.
The main culprit of the Ilovaiskaya tragedy is the military command of the Russian Federation. On August 21, 2020, the office of the Prosecutor General stated that the only factor that led to the tragic events near Ilovaisk was the military aggression of the Russian Armed Forces.
On March 29, 2022, the entire command of the 331st Kostroma Guards Airborne Regiment of the Russian Federation, which was responsible for the 2014 Ilovaisky Cauldron, was destroyed.
It should be noted that on March 11 and 15, it became known about the death in Ukraine of the corporal of the 331st regiment Leonid Panteleev, senior lieutenant Nikolai Symov, sergeant Maxim Vorotyntsev and contract soldier Klim Abramov.
