Corporal Baurzhan Abdykaim shouldered an animal weighing 50 kilograms. In May, he wants to arrange a race from Almaty to Taraz, the distance between the cities is almost 500 kilometers.
Kazakh soldier, corporal Baurzhan Abdykaim broke his own record at a sports competition in Almaty on the occasion of the Navruz holiday. He raised a ram 2,050 times in 2 hours, the Kazakh Defense Ministry said.
The animal weighed 50 kg, and a year ago Abdykaim lifted the ram more than 1600 times. This is the eighth victory of Abdykaim in the national competition.
“I dedicated the record to the strong, strong-willed Kazakh people. Physically, it was hard, but patience and daily training brought results. Thanks to those who supported me,” the athlete said.
Abdykaim serves in the Central Sports Club
Baurzhan Abdykaim has been serving in the Central Sports Club as a senior soldier of the commandant’s platoon since May 2017. The athlete regularly participates in republican, city marathons and major sporting events organized in Almaty.
This year, on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland, which is celebrated in Kazakhstan on May 7, the military wants to make a run from Almaty to Taraz. The distance between cities is almost 500 kilometers.
