German Finance Minister Christian Lindner spoke about the negative consequences of the ICE ban in the European Union from 2035.
The official noted that electric vehicles are still more expensive than cars with an internal combustion engine, so the ban on the latter will make personal transport less accessible to many people.
Germany has even organized a coalition to oppose the upcoming ban, which includes Italy and several Eastern European states. In their opinion, the ban should not be total, but with an exception for engines running on synthetic (non-harmful to nature) fuel from renewable sources.
