The premiere of the fantastic action movie “65” with Adam Driver in the title role has started in Ukraine. The film repeats several Hollywood stories at once, and why it is still worth watching is in the review of the film “65” by the journalist Focus.

Adam Driver is a very risky and atypical actor. For the lead role in the Disney Star Wars trilogy, the actor received a lot of criticism. And then he returned to serious cinema. The festival “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote”, the musical “Annette”, which won two awards at the Cannes Film Festival, Ridley Scott’s “The Last Duel”, controversially received by the public, and finally the pop, but fashionable “House of Gucci” – Adam Driver did not act in simple films.
And here again – fantasy, in the trailer – dinosaurs. Powerfully breathes “Park” and “World” of the Jurassic periods. However, not only – the film contains a lot of Hollywood ideas. Why is Adam Driver there?

Action “65” was shot by young directors Scott Beck and Brian Woods, previously known only as screenwriters of “A Quiet Place”.
“It seemed unfair to us that Spielberg had grabbed a monopoly on dinosaur films,” Beck explained in an interview.
Well, Adam Driver admitted that he took on the role solely for the sake of his little son, who loves dinosaurs.
That’s the whole simple motivational compote for the new tape. Oh, and also a very young (15-year-old) and beautiful Puerto Rican Ariana Greenblatt. However, her role is limited to surprised looks and attempts not to be eaten until the savior Driver comes running.
The movie “65”: a little bit of the Jurassic period, a little bit of “The Last of Us”
Actually, the plot of “65” is simple: a spaceship crashes on a certain planet. Only two survived – the pilot and a little girl. They have to go a long way to the rescue capsule (it broke away from the ship 15 kilometers away), fighting off dinosaurs. Because the planet is Earth, 65 million years ago.
This is reminiscent of three big Hollywood projects at once. First, a strong man accompanies a defenseless girl through a dangerous world – a copy of the recently released series “The Last of Us”. But instead of hordes of zombies, our heroes are attacked by dinosaurs from the Earth’s past – that’s Jurassic World Park for you.
And, finally, the plot is almost a tracing-paper of the film “After Earth”, in which Wall Smith and his son play (three “Golden Raspberries” – 2014). There, the pilot’s son independently scurries through the wild forests – to the rescue beacon.
Adam Driver and Ariana Greenblatt do everything more naturally. And many scenes still make you twitch, unlike the more playful Jurassic periods. Well, dinosaurs against weapons are not immortal here, they can really be killed. In general, the film takes a little more cruelty and truthfulness of the scenes. For example, a very original scene where a girl saves a dinosaur from a quagmire, but after it is eaten by other brothers. That’s it.

To watch the movie “65” or not to watch
If you like any movies about dinosaurs – watch. There will be several new species, maybe not canonical, but scary.
If you love Adam Driver, watch it. Rate the pumped-up torso of the actor.
If you like a large-scale show, a sea of humor, this is not entirely for you.
The film “65” is very good for the evening cinema. Not long – 1 hour 33 minutes. Viewers rated it on Rottentomatoes at 64% freshness. Critics did not like it – 34%, due to the mentioned repetitions of other films and the boring plot. I would give 68%.
