But how then to look for them in order to bring them to justice?
In Moscow, they began testing a neural network to search for violators on electric scooters and other means of individual mobility (SIM). According to the head of the metropolitan traffic police, Alexander Bykov, the infrastructure of the Center for Traffic Organization (TsODD) will be used.
The first tests of the system are taking place on the main streets, where an increased speed limit is set. In other words, these are the streets where it is allowed to drive at a speed of more than 60 km / h, but you can’t move on the SIM there.
The fact that smart cameras can calculate anything and everything is beyond doubt. But another question arises: how will they determine and, accordingly, punish the one who drove the electric scooter?
Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Behind the wheel”
– I spotted the smart electronics of a scooter on the avenue. And then what? So far, nothing. He has no license plates, other differences too. Is it urgent to chase him in a traffic police car? I doubt the police have other things to worry about. He turned into the nearest passage, there into the courtyard – and goodbye.
Recall that on March 1, amendments to the traffic rules came into force, which equated electric scooters, electric skateboards, gyro scooters, segways, unicycles and other similar devices to vehicles.
They received SIM status.
Movement on them is allowed at a speed of no more than 25 km / h.
