According to Minister Sebastian Lecornu, the Ukrainian crews of the AMX-10 RC armored vehicles were trained at the Saumur Cavalry School and at the Canjuers camp.
The first AMX-10 RC heavy reconnaissance armored vehicles, which France promised back in January, have already arrived in Ukraine. Moreover, some of them are directly on the front line. This was stated by the Minister of the Armed Forces of France, Sebastien Lecornu, during a meeting of the Defense Commission of the National Assembly on March 15, writes Le Figaro.
“Some have already gone to the front lines,” Lecornu said.
True, the minister did not specify the exact number of cars. In addition, Lecornu promised the supply of armored vehicles to Ukraine already “next week.”

The publication writes that discussions are underway in Paris about the advisability of delivering tanks directly. However, France has decided not to send its Leclerc tanks for the time being, since it does not have enough of them itself – about 200 serviceable ones.
However, according to the newspaper, the French army is armed with 247 AMX-10 RC armored vehicles. Some of them are already outdated, and therefore the Ministry of the Armed Forces of France decided to reduce this figure.
AMX-10 RC armored vehicles
French heavy armored vehicles, also called “wheeled tanks” or “light tanks”. Designed for reconnaissance and destruction of enemy military equipment. Used during the Gulf War, in Afghanistan. AMX-10 RCs have a “tank layout” and are also armed with a 105 mm cannon. The gun has a semi-automatic vertical wedge breech that allows automatic ejection of the cartridge case after firing.
Recall that back in January 2023, France said that Ukraine would receive AMX-10RC armored fighting vehicles within two months. So, on January 12, Lecornu held telephone conversations with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov and confirmed the universal support for Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about the supply of AMX-10RC on January 4 after a conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
