The Universal 900, created in 1993, belonged to the second group – this is how it remained in history, although the name is unofficial.
The car was clearly inspired by the Mercedes-Benz Unimog, a compact four-wheel drive truck capable of delivering cargo and performing a wide range of tasks in the most inaccessible places.

The design used a slightly modified cab from ZIL-4331, and a tractor diesel engine from the Minsk Tractor Plant was used as an engine. The box, razdatka and bridges were supplied from the GAZ-66.
The car turned out to be interesting, but on it the history of Zilovsky all-wheel drive vehicles was just beginning to take off: the plant needed a “unimog” on its own aggregate base. Therefore, the first concept was followed by others.
