New water tariffs: when to expect price increases
The commission plans to raise tariffs in two stages: first on April 1, and again on July 1. The issue of raising tariffs is going to be put on the agenda of the commission’s meeting in the form of an open hearing in March.
It is noted that the draft tariffs for centralized water supply and drainage have been carefully checked, so the recalculation meets the requirements of the current legislation.
“In order to contain the financial burden on consumers and ensure the provision of centralized water supply and centralized sanitation services of adequate quality, the regulator minimized costs in the tariff structure,” the National Commission said on March 10, 2023.
In addition, the National Commission is also exploring the possibility of introducing a minimum limit on electricity consumption and setting new electricity tariffs that would depend on the volume of consumption.
So, according to the head of the National Commission Konstantin Ushchapovsky, new models of the electricity market are being developed in Ukraine, and in this regard, several scenarios for raising tariffs, including for the population, are being considered.
Recall that earlier Focus has already analyzed what other factors will affect the level of tariffs for the population, and why diesel and gasoline can seriously rise in price in 2023.
