According to journalists, in the first version of the agreement on the supply of products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for January-February 2023, the supplier Good Food LLC offered eggs for UAH 8.5 per piece, and the prices for some vegetables were significantly inflated.
For 2023, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed eight contracts for the supply of food for the Armed Forces. According to the first version of the agreement with Khorosheye Dlyo LLC, prices for some vegetables were significantly higher than market prices, writes Bihus.Info.
The journalists managed to obtain invoices and a copy of the contract signed by the defense department with Khorosheye Dlyo LLC. In the mentioned documents, inflated prices for some products were noticed.
Thus, the price for the supply of potatoes in January-February of this year in the first version of the contract was 27 UAH / kg, for cabbage – 33 UAH / kg, for beets – 30 UAH / kg. Prices for eggs in LLC “Good dish” reached 8-8.5 UAH/pc.
At the same time, the supplier purchased potatoes for UAH 7.2-10.5, cabbage for up to UAH 12.5/kg, and beets for up to UAH 11/kg. Thus, the difference between the prices for purchase and delivery was UAH 16.5-19.8 for potatoes, from UAH 20.5 for cabbage, and at least UAH 19/kg for beets.
Prices for products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the initial version of the contract
The purchasing director of Khorosheye Dlyo LLC said that due to the transportation of products to the front, “the cost of delivery reaches 10 UAH per kg of products.”
In February 2023, information appeared on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the price of products purchased for food for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2023. According to the published data, the prices for potatoes, cabbage and beets at Khorosheye Dlyo LLC decreased by 7-10 g hryvnia/kg.
LLC “Good dish” reduced prices for products
According to journalists, the Ministry of Defense did not have time to pay for the products under the first version of the contract with the supplier. The payment was stopped after copies of one of the documents were made public in the media.
“I admit that we will continue the contracts again for a short time. For a maximum of two or three months, in order to still enter some new system,” Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov told reporters.
Suppliers told how they received contracts from the Ministry of Defense
Recall that on January 21, journalist and founder of the Nashi Groshi project, Yuri Nikolov, said that the Ministry of Defense was stealing the budget, inflating food prices for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The media also published documents that dealt with the purchase of eggs for 17 hryvnia/piece and potatoes for 22 hryvnia/kg.
According to the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation on February 2, entrepreneurs who sold eggs to the military for 17 hryvnias and entered false data into documents were detained. According to the agency, the perpetrators caused damage to the state in the amount of UAH 4.6 million.
