What happened on this day:
Today the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the Holy Martyr Evdokia. She was a very beautiful and frivolous girl. But after meeting with the rector of the male and female monasteries Herman, she was baptized and became a zealous Christian. She died a martyr’s death for her faith in Christ. The people called this day “Evdokia Plyushchikha” or “Evdoha”.
In Ukraine, March 14 is the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer.
