AVTOVAZ returns to production a modification called Granta Sport…
The presentation of the car took place at the recently held festival “Baikal Mile 2023”. As before, such cars will be produced by the Lada Sport factory division.
Recall that from 2019 until last year’s crisis, Grants were produced here by others – they were called Granta Drive Active, and they had an ordinary, 106-horsepower 16-valve VAZ-21127 engine.

But now the manufacturer intends to return exactly the sports Grant, which it was produced from 2013 to 2019. Under the hood of the car presented at Baikal was the VAZ-21127-95 engine. On this motor, the previous forcing solutions are applied, but the receiver is from the 1.8 motor.
As Maxim Kadakov, the editor-in-chief of Behind the Wheel, said, thanks to the new intake and the new control program (the control unit is Itelma), about 120-122 hp will be removed from this engine in the serial version. Recall that Granta Sport of previous years of production developed either 118 hp, or, after switching to Euro-5, 114 hp.
The exact characteristics will be known later. In addition to a powerful engine, other sports solutions will also find application on the Grant Sport. Estimated start date for sales is summer 2023.
