Mercedes-Benz customers in Germany now have the option to pay for certain services via their in-car fingerprint sensor using the new Mercedes pay+ service.
The global transaction volume for payments in the car is expected to exceed 4.7 billion euros by 2026.
Previously, a PIN code was required on the MBUX infotainment system or using a smartphone, for example, to confirm payment for additional digital services. Now, instead, the car itself becomes a means of payment.
