The beginning of spring on Baikal turned out to be alarming: tourists and fishermen regularly fall through the ice, suffer themselves and damage equipment.

In addition, video surveillance is now working at the famous Olkhon crossing, and employees of the department monitor social networks for trips to the ice and prosecution.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations sounded the alarm not from scratch: on March 3, a rented Hyundai with four people in the cabin went under the ice. Everyone got out unscathed, but the driver received a fine and an order to reimburse the cost of lifting the car from the bottom.
