According to Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze, people came to today’s rally ready to be dispersed. Therefore, the authorities will not dare to use force to clean up the protest.
Today in Tbilisi, near the Georgian parliament, where protesters gather against the laws on “foreign agents”, the anthem of Ukraine was played. A video recording of the anthem was published by Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze on his Facebook page.
“The people came to Rustaveli with masks and bottles of water, that is, ready to disperse. But you know that there will be no dispersal today. not to any provocations,” Vasadze writes.
The video shows that after the end of the anthem, the protesters applauded wildly in solidarity with the support of the people of Ukraine.
“And the anthem of Ukraine sounds on Rustaveli. We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and glory to Ukraine!” he stressed.

Yesterday, on March 7, the Georgian parliament adopted in the first reading a law on “foreign agents”, similar to Russian legislation aimed at limiting Western influence, which caused protests and clashes outside the parliament.
Recall, on March 8, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that they were “closely following” the large-scale protests in Georgia and expressed their solidarity with the Georgian people.
Also in Tbilisi on March 8, a women’s march was held against the law on foreign agents. More than two thousand people marched from Republic Square to the parliament building.
