According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, the operation would be a compliment for the Ukrainian special forces, but this is not the work of their hands.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Ukraine had nothing to do with the explosions on the Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines. He said this before an informal meeting of EU defense ministers, Ukrinform reports.
According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, the investigations that appeared in the media are “a rather strange story.”
“For me, this is a rather strange story that has nothing to do with us. I think that the official investigation conducted by the relevant authorities will reveal all the details. This would be a certain compliment for our special forces, but these are not our actions,” Reznikov explained.
On March 7, first in the American edition of The New York Times, and then in the German Die Zeit, they wrote that Ukraine was allegedly involved in the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The American publication claims that a “pro-Ukrainian group”, which consisted of citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, could be behind the explosions. Officially, Kyiv denies its involvement in the bombings, blaming the Kremlin. The Russian Federation, in turn, accuses the UK of sabotage. And the British Ministry of Defense believes that Moscow itself could undermine the gas pipeline
The German edition, in turn, claims that a group of 6 people planted explosives in gas pipelines. They rented a vessel from a company from Poland, which could have been owned by two citizens of Ukraine. The traces are said to lead to Ukraine, but it is not clear who ordered the operation.
Recall that on March 3, the Russian Federation decided to abandon the repair of the Nord Stream. They plan to preserve and seal.
On September 28, the British Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Federation itself could undermine the Nord Stream using an underwater drone.
