Legislators in the U.S. state of Florida have proposed a bill that would oblige motorists to end the habit of dogs sticking their head or any other part of their body out of car windows. The document was prepared by State Senator Lauren Book.
The bill also wants to ban drivers from holding a dog on their laps. Animals may not be transported on the running board, fender, hood or roof of the vehicle, or in the trunk, closed cargo area, or in a towed vehicle.

The bill also contains other rules for the protection of animals. All of them are designed to protect the four-legged. For example, if the dog is in the back of a pickup truck, then it should be in a ventilated carrier that protects the animal from bad weather and direct sunlight.
