In the near future, the results of the tender for the sale of the assets of the Volkswagen concern in the Russian Federation are to be announced. According to media reports, as a result of the transaction, the buyer will receive not only the Kaluga plant, but also the production of engines, as well as financial companies Scania.
The most likely buyer is the Avilon Automotive Group (AG), which offered the best deal terms. Another contender for the assets of the German concern in Russia, AFK Sistema, refused to participate in the tender.

It is assumed that the investor will restart production at the plant in assembly mode. The most likely option is the localization of the Jetta models of the VW and FAW partnership in China, the parallel import of which has already been taken up by Avilon.
