The frontman of the VV group believes that the Ukrainian scene is experiencing a cultural catastrophe, which occurred, among other things, due to Russian influence.
The leader of the Ukrainian group VV Oleg Skrypka called the performers Nadezhda Dorofeeva and Aleksey Potapenko “patriotic cynics” for their work in Ukrainian. According to the artist, these performers are “scene businessmen” who simply built their own careers. Skrypka gave such an assessment of their work in an interview with the TV channel “Your place”.
During the conversation, the talk turned to the possibility of recording hits of the 1970s with modern Ukrainian pop stars, such as Dorofeeva and Potap, who now perform songs in Ukrainian. To which Skrypka replied that their current work is “patriotic cynicism.”
“Patriotic cynicism. Sincere cynics. It’s just that there is a person on the stage, and there is a person who is a businessman on the stage. Today, there are such mechanisms that people observe businessmen on the stage. Businessmen have built a great career for themselves, and some of them sing even more or less normally” Violin said.
The artist also expressed the opinion that the Ukrainian scene is experiencing a kind of cultural catastrophe, calling some phenomena in modern show business “bayraktar”. Skrypka believes that this happened, among other things, due to Russian influence. This, in turn, led to the fact that Ukrainian performers issue a “low-quality product.”

“The structure of show business has not changed, and if we changed the language (performances), did the Russian influence disappear? After all, there was Russian-language content and Ukrainian-speaking fools who were on the air. This is such a task – to have a low-quality product. It is necessary that in content returned to music, and not just words about freedom,” Skripka explained.
