During the period of the tax amnesty, the value of the amnestied assets amounted to UAH 8.8 billion, and the amount of collection to the budget was UAH 547.5 million.
In Ukraine, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, the tax amnesty campaign officially ended, in which citizens were allowed to voluntarily declare property, money and assets for which taxes were not paid. This was reported by the State Tax Service.
It is noted that the tax amnesty started on September 1, 2021, and during this time the value of the amnestied assets amounted to UAH 8.8 billion, and the amount of collection to the budget was UAH 547.5 million.
At the same time, the head of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danil Getmantsev, added that in total, citizens filed 845 declarations.
“Over the past two weeks, UAH 2.6 billion has been declared. Almost 30%. At the same time, many did not have time to take advantage of the unique opportunity,” the people’s deputy said.
At the same time, in June 2021, Daniil Getmantsev predicted that, thanks to a tax amnesty, assets worth about $20 billion would be brought out of the shadows.
What threatens citizens who have not filed a declaration
Then the Tax Service has the right to decide that such a citizen of Ukraine has the following property and funds:
400 thousand hryvnia; apartments with a total area of up to 120 sq. m, or at home – up to 240 sq. m; land plot within free privatization; one car.
But since the tax amnesty is voluntary, Ukrainians are not required to declare their property and savings. Therefore, no punishment is provided.
Recall, according to the terms of the tax amnesty, Ukrainians could declare real estate, currency, cars and other valuables. As a result of the submitted declaration, an individual will have to pay a one-time tax in the amount of 2.5% to 9%.
Earlier Focus also wrote that Ukrainian teachers who are engaged in tutoring, but are not registered as sole proprietors, must declare their income and pay tax.
