In Russia, it is necessary to abandon the practice of ambushes with speed cameras, as well as make other changes to the rules for placing individual automated systems on the roads.
With such a proposal, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, Pavel Krupnik, turned to the head of the traffic police, Mikhail Chernikov.
The parliamentarian noted that he receives numerous messages from drivers who are concerned about the excessive severity and illogicality of the placement of individual traffic control systems. Many car owners believe that cameras are sometimes installed not to prevent accidents, but as traps.

The illogical placement of systems can lead to an emergency situation, Krupnik believes, and proposes to abandon them, in particular, on specialized lanes for overtaking and advancing outside settlements and sections of roads with a high accident rate.
Also, in his opinion, operators should indicate their presence on the road by turning on a blue-red flashing beacon.
