Smells in the interior can be very different, but still the most disturbing is the smell of fuel.
Alexey Revin and Mikhail Kolodochkin, experts at Behind the Wheel, spoke in detail about what different technical smells that have settled in the interior of your car can mean. In particular, they described the reasons why it can smell like gasoline.
The first reason is a leak in the fuel line, which could have appeared after a poor-quality repair or after damage.

The second reason – the deformation of the fuel module cover gasket – either got old or a new one was installed incorrectly.
The third reason is leaking injectors and fuel pressure regulator due to wear or hardened seals.
The fourth reason is a leak in the fuel filter due to housing corrosion or loose connections.
The fifth reason is a leaky closed or rusted canister in the trunk.
The sixth reason – if the machine is with a carburetor, the float chamber may be the source of the leak, check the needle valve.
The seventh reason is the leakage of the diaphragm of the mechanical fuel pump.
