The monarch has already offered to move into the cottage to his brother, Prince Andrew, whose maintenance costs he intends to significantly reduce.
After the release of the scandalous memoirs of Prince Harry, King Charles III concluded for himself that his youngest son decided to finally break all ties with British relatives. Without thinking twice, the monarch announced that the Dukes of Sussex should vacate Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, offering to move there to his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, LBC reports, citing biographer Harry and Meghan Omid Scobie. Buckingham Palace has already provided the couple with a corresponding notice.
The Dukes of Sussex have been told that “someone else” needs the property as relations between them and the rest of the royal family remain at an “unprecedented low”.
“This news, sources tell me, stunned Harry and Meghan, and at least two members of the royal family” shocked, “Scobie said.
Now Prince Harry and his wife are busy planning how to send some of the property that remained in Frogmore to the United States. Initially, the father gave Harry two weeks to collect things, but then he increased the time for eviction, before the coronation.

“All this seems to be a very final and cruel punishment. As if the family wants to delete them from the pictures forever,” a friend of the Sussexes reacted to such a decision of the monarch.
Prince Andrew, who has lived in the Royal Lodge with the 98-acre estate since 2003, has been asked to leave his 30-room mansion, and Frogmore Cottage has been offered instead. The elder brother-king explained this decision by the fact that it is expensive to maintain the property and it already needs to be repaired. Charles III plans to cut Andrew’s annual allowance by £249,000.
Andrew is said to be opposed to the move, but Harry and Meghan will be forced to leave the cottage – their only remaining home in the UK – whether he moves in or not.
“This certainly marks the end of Harry and Meghan’s stay in the UK. Andrew is resisting the idea of moving into Frogmore Cottage after being offered it last week. But it shows that Harry and Meghan are powerless to stop the eviction,” the sources said.
In 2018, the Queen gave the couple Frogmore for their wedding. Before moving there, Harry and Meghan ordered a £2.4 million refurbishment. After “Magzit” and moving to the USA, the couple returned the money for repairs and rented out the cottage. Harry and Meghan last renewed their lease on the property in May 2022 after Princess Eugenie and her husband left the estate.
It is not yet known whether they will challenge the king’s decision.
Focus previously wrote that Meghan Markle was surprised when she found out what fortune Prince Harry actually owns. According to her, she thought that her fiancé had more money.
