Iranian-made Shahed drones were spotted over the Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kyiv regions.
On the night of March 1, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation attacked the territory of Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles. In the Poltava region, the work of air defense was recorded, as a result of which at least 5 UAVs were shot down. This was announced by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmitry Lunin in Telegram.
During the launch of enemy drones, an air alert was announced in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kiev, Poltava, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Kirovograd regions, as well as in the Nikopol district of the Dnepropetrovsk region.

At 23:42, the mayor of the city of Kremenchuk, Poltava region, Vitaliy Maletsky, wrote on Telegram that sounds resembling explosions sounded in the city. At 00:13 Dmitry Lunin clarified that air defense had worked in the region and reported one downed air target.

At 23:55, the official Telegram channel of the Kyiv region police warned of a high probability of an attack by “Shaheds”.
At 00:45, the head of the Poltava OVA added that, according to preliminary data, five Russian kamikaze drones were shot down over the Poltava region.
“It is preliminary known about the downing of up to 5 enemy UAVs. The information is being specified. Thank you for the successful work of air defense! We remain calm! We remain in shelters! We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine!” the official wrote.

Information about the destruction and casualties of the Russian attack has not yet been received.
Recall that on the night of February 27, the Russian Armed Forces attacked the city of Khmelnytsky with Iranian kamikaze drones, as a result of which two rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were killed.
Also, in one of the districts of the Kyiv region, fragments of a drone shot down on the night of February 27 were found in a field. It was reported that the attack of enemy UAVs in the Kiev region did without casualties and damage to infrastructure.
