According to the head of Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian Federation intends to curtail constitutional power there. To this end, they applied a number of measures, but they all failed.
The Russian special services failed to organize a coup d’état in Moldova, neighboring Ukraine. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, spoke about this in an interview with Voice of America.
“Therefore, it is clear that the situation is not the easiest for Moldova. Here we are talking about the attempt of the Russian Federation to overthrow the constitutional government. Well, as you can see, so far they have not succeeded,” Budanov said.
According to him, in order to achieve the desired result, the special services of the Russian Federation applied a number of measures, but all their plans collapsed in the bud.
In addition, Budanov expressed confidence that further attempts by Russia to undermine the situation inside Moldova and overthrow the constitutional government in the country will not be successful.
Recall, on February 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Russian Federation planned to attack Moldova simultaneously with a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At a press conference, the president said that at the beginning of a full-scale war, shots were fired from the territory of Transnistria towards Ukraine and the Moldovan government knows about it.
Then the Ukrainian intelligence received evidence of the Kremlin’s plans to attack Moldova, which the head of state handed over to his European colleagues.
Focus also wrote that Moldova responded to the statements of the Russian Federation about the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Transnistria. According to the Secretary of State of Moldova, the official Chisinau sees no danger from the Ukrainian army, and Russia itself puts psychological pressure on the country, wanting a coup.
