According to journalists, the Belarusian security forces are looking for 29-year-old Nikolai Shvets, who allegedly committed a “especially dangerous crime.”
In the Republic of Belarus, the Minsk police department is looking for a suspect in the explosion of a Russian AWACS aircraft A-50 at a military airfield in Machulishchi on February 26. Employees of fleets, doctors and drivers of state minibuses received an orientation for 29-year-old native of Crimea Nikolai Shvets, Zerkalo reports, citing one of its readers.
“In the work chats of the employees of the car parks in Gomel, they spread out an orientation with a photo, they didn’t hang it up yet. It was sent not only to them, but to the doctors they informed, and to state minibuses. They said to be vigilant,” the source told reporters.
It is noted that Nikolai Shvets is wanted in connection with the commission of “a particularly serious crime in the urban village of Machulishchi on February 26.” The police department of the Gomel regional executive committee confirmed this information.

The journalists asked the head of the Belarusian organization BYPOL, Alexander Azarov, whether the wanted man was connected with the events in Machulishchi on February 26, to which they received a negative answer.
“This face is unknown to us. Who he is, I don’t know. Their task is to identify suspects. But God knows how he was installed, they don’t tell. He happened to walk down the street, and now they suspect him,” he said Azarov.
Undermining the AWACS aircraft A-50 in Machulishchi
On the morning of February 26, explosions were heard in the vicinity of the Belarusian military airfield “Machulishchi”, from where the planes of the Russian Armed Forces take off to strike at the territory of Ukraine.
BYPOL said, referring to the data of the participants in the Peramoga plan, that the Russian airborne early warning and control aircraft A-50 was blown up at the airfield. As a result of 2 explosions, the middle and central parts of the aircraft were damaged, as well as avionics and a radar antenna.
It was also reported that during the incident, snowplows were operating near the Russian AWACS aircraft A-50.
The head of BYPOL Alexander Azarov said in a comment to Nasha Niva that Belarusian partisans were involved in the sabotage at the airfield in Machulishchi.
Later, Azarov clarified that drones were involved in the attack on the Belarusian Machulishchi airfield. According to him, the participants in the operation are citizens of Belarus who have already left the country for a safe place.
According to the former security official, the current authorities of Belarus will not call this attack a reason for the direct participation of the Belarusian army in the war in Ukraine.
“They can say anything, but I don’t think it’s profitable for Lukashenko to attack Ukraine now,” the head of BYPOL believes.
In turn, Alexander Lukashenko, having gathered the heads of law enforcement agencies, said that he demanded that the leadership of the power bloc ensure the most severe discipline in military units and a high level of control at the state border.
According to Lukashenka, there are certain “forces” that allegedly will try by any means to “undermine” the situation inside Belarus.
