The British monarch admired the behavior of Ukrainians in countering Russian aggression and noted that it was “a great pleasure” for him to meet with representatives of our country.
On the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, King Charles III of Great Britain expressed admiration for the Ukrainian nation for its courage and resilience. The personal appeal of the British monarch to the Ukrainians was published on the royal family’s Instagram page.
“It has been a year since the people of Ukraine suffered incredibly from an unprovoked full-scale attack on the nation. They showed truly amazing courage and resilience in the face of such a human tragedy. The world watched in horror for all … the suffering inflicted on the Ukrainians, many of which I took great pleasure meet here in Great Britain and all over the world, from Romania to Canada,” Charles III emphasized.
The monarch also remembered a personal meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, which took place in early February at Buckingham Palace. He said Britain’s position had remained unchanged since then.

“London is on the side of Ukraine at this difficult time and, together with its allies, is doing everything in its power to support Kiev. Therefore, I can only hope that a surge of solidarity around the world can bring not only practical help, but also strength from the realization that we are united,” said the British king.
Earlier, the King visited the training of the Ukrainian military in the UK.
The future king and his wife also expressed their support for the Ukrainians. At the end of February 2022, messages appeared on the official accounts of the now Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, in which the royal spouses expressed their support for the people of Ukraine. After that, they repeatedly visited Ukrainian refugees.
Recall, on February 18, at the Munich Conference, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that exercises of Ukrainian pilots on NATO aircraft had already started in the UK. The British prime minister said that the state is ready to support the allies if they can immediately transfer the planes to Ukraine.
The British Prime Minister also urged world leaders to double down on military support for Ukraine and provide Kyiv with long-term security guarantees to prevent aggression from the Russian Federation and protect the international order.
