It was supposed to be a hunt for large and heavy SUVs, in the end it is a general class struggle against the owners of larger passenger cars. The “brilliant” thing is that in the end it was won by only three percent of the residents of Paris who went to the polls last weekend.
Paris currently has 1.3 million licensed drivers. However, only about 78,000 of them, i.e. 5.7 percent, came to the referendum. Of this number, less than 55 percent voted for an increase in the hourly tariff for parking in the center from 6 to 18 euros. In other words, about 3.1 percent. The referendum was set so that the result is valid. We only add that payments in the remaining parts of the city will rise to 12 euros per hour. And who does the fee increase affect?
