One day before the bombshell news about his transfer Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, the FOM had rejected Andretti Global's application to join Formula 1.
Later, it became known that the FOM had invited representatives of the group to London for a meeting regarding her application, however this never took place.
“We didn't know there was an invitation to a meeting, and of course we weren't going to refuse it,” Andretti said in a statement.
“A close meeting for a discussion on all important issues remains of the utmost importance for Andretti Cadillac. We would like to have this opportunity to meet Formula One Management and have written to them to express our interest.”
According to reporter Jenna Fryerthe one in question invitation arrived at email of the company by Decemberbut it was lost in envelope after spam and thus no one ever saw her.
Furthermore, the Andretti emphasized that its initial goal was to join the grid 2026that's why he already built a small team of people to prepare in conditions of regulations 2024so that it is ready for the new generation.
The existence of the prospect for entry the 2025 it was “a detail that made it into our proposal because of how long the process ended up taking,” the team said.
