THE Fernando Alonso meters 380 starts at Formula 1and will exceed 400 in 2024.
He has driven cars with V10, V8 and V6 engines, with grooved and slick tires, with a low and clearly greater weight, so the point of view of for the how he behaves a car is evaluated and he’s gotweight.
He considers that the generation of single seaters of 2022which have the ground effect philosophy, is awkward and difficult in the setupexplaining why:
“Single-seaters are definitely more difficult to set up and understand. It is even more difficult to provide feedback to the team.
“Sometimes we drive these cars and it feels like everything is going well. You go back to the pits and see the classification and you are 14th. And sometimes the opposite happens.
“You drive a very difficult car: you can feel that the balance is non-existent and then you see that you are third. It is very sensitive to setup changes.”
The Spaniard believes that a large part of this behavior can also be found in posts:
“I don’t think it’s just about aerodynamics. I think it also has to do with the suspension, which is so stiff and low.”
“You lose a bit of what the car gives you in terms of feedback – what is the real balance? How do tires work in relation to aerodynamics, suspension and power?
“All these parameters are a bit confusing sometimes in your hands and body. I think it’s a very complex generation of cars.”
