Ukrainians who have taken refuge from the war in Poland can receive payments from international organizations there. For example, payments from a German charitable foundation are available to some citizens.
The German charitable foundation Diakonie Katastrofenhilfe announced the resumption of financial assistance payments for Ukrainian citizens who left for Poland immediately after the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into our country. A message about this appeared on the official website of the fund.
It is reported that Ukrainian refugees will be paid PLN 710 per applicant and PLN 610 for each family member. If the application is confirmed, the refugees will receive for three months. That is, one Ukrainian during this period will receive 1830 zlotys – 17 thousand 998 hryvnias.
Which of the Ukrainians will receive payments
Certain categories of Ukrainians will be able to claim payments from the charitable foundation. Namely:
who arrived in Poland after February 24, 2022; legally registered in Poland under temporary (PESEL-registry) or international protection; Ukrainian families who did not use financial assistance from other programs or organizations (for example, UNHCR). But if you received/receive payments from social institutions in Poland, you can also apply for an “economically vulnerable” applicant – without regular income and cannot cover the family’s minimum standard of living on his own.
How to apply?
On the Foundation’s website, click on “Make an appointment” and make an appointment at the nearest verification center. Or call the phone number: 800 000 232, if it is not possible to come on your own; in the visitor center, get a control code that you will need to use when entering the program website by clicking on the “Submit Application” button.
What documents are needed for registration
You will need to provide information about each member of your family, as well as upload digital copies of some documents:
PESEL; passport of a citizen of Ukraine / ID; identification number of the taxpayer of Ukraine (RNOKPP); foreign passport; document confirming the date of entry into Poland; medical documents if someone from the family is seriously ill; documents on guardianship.
Recall, on March 8, it became known that Ukrainian refugees in Poland were overpaid 2 million zlotys in benefits, which is about 450 thousand dollars. It turned out that some Ukrainians received financial assistance after they returned home. The social services of Poland are already aware of cases when Ukrainians with children came to the country specifically to apply for benefits, and then immediately left back.
Meanwhile, a new algorithm for checking internally displaced persons has been introduced in Ukraine. As Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk explained, now the IDPs will be checked only if they suspect they have received illegal assistance.
