According to the former head of the Lugansk OVA, he does not regret a single day spent in office and is ready to accept any appointment by President Zelensky.
The former head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai, confirmed his possible appointment as Ukraine’s ambassador to Kazakhstan, but noted that “still can change.” He spoke about this in an interview with journalist Vasily Golovanov, published on March 16.
“When we have some units transferred to another direction, this does not mean that there is a big problem in the places where people are taken. This means that there is an important area where we need to keep the defense, and we are strengthening it. The situation with my dismissal and, I hope, an early appointment to a new position – this is just such a rotation,” said Gaidai.
The former head of the Lugansk OVA added that a military man would most likely be put in his place, and he himself would be redirected “to another front.”
“In this case, I hope it will be diplomatic work in a very important direction. Most likely it will be Kazakhstan. This has already been discussed. Again, everything can change, we are at war. If the president sees me in a different direction, I I won’t argue. Wherever he sees me, I will work until victory,” Gaidai said.
According to the ex-head of the Lugansk OVA, one of his main achievements in office was the evacuation of citizens during a full-scale invasion.
“I gave 3.5 years to my native region. I do not regret more than one day. Moreover, I am proud of what I managed to do. In relatively peaceful times, I managed to bring the region to third place in Ukraine. And after a full-scale invasion, we did our best to evacuate as many people as possible,” Gaidai said.
Zelensky dismissed the leaders of the Lugansk, Odesa and Khmelnytsky OVAs
On March 15, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the heads of the Luhansk, Odessa and Khmelnytsky regional military administrations by his decree.
A day earlier, on March 14, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the dismissal of the heads of the above-mentioned regional military administrations.
