The Volvo 740 Turbo for sale has lost its factory 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 150 hp. It was replaced by a 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 from the Buick Grand National, which, after modernization, produces 320 hp. It works in tandem with a five-speed manual transmission from Pontiac Firebird.

The station wagon was also fitted with new Bilstein dampers and springs. Standard 16-inch wheels are shod with BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2 A/S tires.
