They want to give Russian motorists the opportunity to early terminate OSAGO contracts with compensation for an amount proportional to the remaining term of the policy. The LDPR faction has sent a relevant bill to the Cabinet of Ministers, Yaroslav Nilov, deputy chairman of the faction, said.
He noted that now the contract is drawn up in such a way that the insurer is the winner, since the compensation to the driver is calculated according to a certain formula.

We believe that the proportion should work: if a motorist does not use a vehicle for half of the term and is ready to terminate the OSAGO contract, then half the amount should be returned to him, ”the parliamentarian explained.
Nilov added that after the conclusion of the OSAGO agreement, the circumstances of the car owner may change, for example, he was deprived of his rights, began to use the car only for a certain period, cannot repair the car due to lack of spare parts, or was called up for SVO.
Earlier it became known that the approval of the government was received by another initiative of the faction – reducing the minimum term of the OSAGO contract to a month.
