According to Command spokesman Yuri Ignat, the production of high-tech missiles requires a lot of money and time, but the Kremlin “does not count” money during a full-scale invasion.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have launched about 20 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles in Ukraine. At the moment, less than 50 such missiles remain in service with the Russian Federation. This was stated by the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat on the air of the all-Ukrainian telethon on March 10.
Ignat denied the information that during the shelling on March 9, the Russian Armed Forces fired more “Daggers” into Ukraine than in the whole of 2022, noting that last year the Russians used more than six ammunition of this type.
“As you can see, Kinzhals do arrive, they arrive unexpectedly, they arrive quickly, so the danger from these missiles is quite serious. The only thing is that there are not many of them in Russia,” the Air Force speaker said.
According to the speaker, Russia fired three Kinzhal missiles in Vinnitsa alone in one day, and it was difficult to determine exactly the type of all the ammunition with which the Russian Federation fired at Ukraine at the beginning of a full-scale aggression.
“They used, perhaps, up to two dozen” Daggers “for this war in general. Now, according to the GUR, the Russians have a little more than fifty of these missiles. And if you take away these 6, then it’s already less,” Ignat explained.
The speaker of the Air Force also stressed that information about the production volumes of “Daggers” is contradictory and doubtful. It is only known that such a rocket is produced not in one day and not in one week.
“It is high-tech, expensive, it is clear that a lot of time needs to be invested. I don’t even talk about money, Russia doesn’t count them. It will invest as much as it can into weapons of death,” Yuri Ignat stated.
Recall that on the night of March 9, the RF Armed Forces carried out a massive shelling of Ukraine, in particular, with Kinzhal ballistic missiles, which Ukrainian air defense cannot yet shoot down.
According to Yuri Ignat, for the first time the enemy used such a number of different types of missiles to attack. In total, on the morning of March 9, the RF Armed Forces launched 81 missiles of various bases in Ukraine.
According to ISW analysts, the massive shelling of Ukraine on March 9 was carried out by the Russians to reinforce state propaganda. Russian media are positioning the attack as a “retribution strike” in response to the alleged invasion of the Bryansk region on March 2.
