Soldiers of the defense forces not only destroy enemy equipment, but also personnel. During March 9, the Russians in the battles against the border guards lost more than 50 people killed and wounded.
Russian infantry on the routes of movement and in shelters was destroyed by border guards in the Bakhmut direction with the help of mortars. On March 10, the State Border Service published a corresponding video on Telegram.
The mortars effectively destroyed the enemy personnel. A sniper pair of Ukrainian border guards thwarted the invaders’ plans for a broad offensive. The Ukrainian defenders eliminated the occupier, who was trying to take the reserve to the line of collision. Having lost their orientation, 10 attack aircraft decided to gain a foothold behind the destroyed structure. Subsequently, they were destroyed by border guards-mortars.
In another direction in the Donetsk region, the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also showed excellent results. UAV operators made a successful “dump” on the heads of the Russian occupiers. The ammunition destroyed the dugout in which the invaders were located, as well as their anti-tank missile system. In total, on March 9, as border guards reported, enemy forces lost ATGMs, 24 people were killed and 27 more were injured.
The defense of Bakhmut continues, despite the attempts of Russian units to capture the city. The invaders fail to encircle the garrison. Russian troops are losing their most combat-ready units, including paratroopers and Wagner troops.
Earlier, Focus published a statement by the speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces, Sergei Cherevaty, regarding the fact that most of the “Wagnerites” perished in the Bakhmut fields. The psychological state of the mercenaries is extremely low. The speaker suggests that the inglorious story of the “Wagnerites” will soon end. He also noted that the defense of Bakhmut remains an important task for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, personally arrived on the territory of Bakhmut to make sure that the city could be held. He recalled that the defense of the settlement lasts almost 10 months. The defense forces have managed to implement a number of tactical actions that have so far prevented the Russians from capturing the city into an operational encirclement, but the situation remains difficult.
