According to the publication, it is not known how the system will show itself against Russian ballistic missiles “Dagger”.
Ukraine received one of two Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems promised by Germany and the United States. On Friday, March 10, reports the British newspaper Financial Times.
The delivery of similar launchers from the Netherlands is also expected. According to the publication, Patriot is the most advanced medium-range air defense system that Western countries can offer Kyiv. Ukraine also expects to receive a similar Samp-T system promised by France and Italy.
Journalists note that the Patriot air defense system was not tested against Russian ballistic missiles “Dagger”, which the invaders launch from the territory of Belarus with the help of MiG-31 fighters. Now in Ukraine there are no technical capabilities to shoot down these missiles.
Deliveries of Patriot to Ukraine
On March 7, Yury Ignat, Speaker of the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that the air defense systems would be delivered to the country in the near future.
“Of course, Patriot will be in Ukraine, the decision has been made, people are learning. We expect it in the near future,” Ignat said.
On the same day, the Polish Ministry of Defense reported that the positive decision to transfer the systems to Kyiv was made thanks to the efforts of Warsaw.
On February 2, Ukrainian Defense Attache to the United States Boris Kremenetsky reported that the Ukrainian military, who were trained in the use of Patriot air defense systems in the United States, were ahead of the training schedules, which were already drawn up according to the accelerated program.
Recall, on January 19, the House of Representatives of the Dutch Parliament supported the supply of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
