Baby Adiya and Adrial Nadaraja were born 126 days before their due date. The previous record was set in 2018 by twins in the US state of Iowa.
In Canada, twins were born at the 22nd week of pregnancy. They were registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the earliest children in the world. This is reported by the BBC news service.
Mom Shakina Rajendram said that when she went into labor at 21 weeks and five days, doctors told her the babies were “not viable” and had “zero chance of survival.”
According to father Kevin Nadarajah, they were told at the medical facility that they could not help with such an early pregnancy, as a result of which he did not sleep at night and prayed with tears in his eyes.
Most medical institutions do not try to save babies born before 24-26 weeks. But, fortunately, the couple decided to go to Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, which has a specialized neonatal intensive care unit.
On the day of delivery (21 weeks and six days of pregnancy), doctors told Shakina Rajendram that if the babies were born even a few minutes before 22 weeks, they would be left to die.

The woman, despite heavy bleeding, did everything possible to delay the birth for a few more hours. Eventually the waters broke 15 minutes after midnight. Less than two hours after 22 weeks in the womb, the babies were born.
Adiya and Adrial lived to be one year old, despite serious medical problems at the very beginning.
“Many times we saw how the kids almost died before our eyes. Doctors are still closely watching them, the brothers and sisters are doing well now,” said Shakina Rajendrum.
Previously, Focus wrote that in the United States record-breaking twins were born only 30 years later. When the embryos were first frozen, their father was only five years old, and now, after many years, the babies were born.
It was also reported that the British gave birth to a daughter, marked by an unusual birthmark. 37-year-old Jane Welch, who gave birth to her daughter Georgia, was quite surprised when she saw a birthmark on the baby’s body that repeated the ideal shape of the heart.
