According to the state assistance program, most of the funds were received by those released from captivity of the Russian Federation. More than 6 million hryvnias were paid to the relatives of those who are still supported by the occupiers.
On March 9, the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine sent an additional UAH 18.8 million to captured Ukrainian citizens and their relatives. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
UAH 12.3 million was transferred to the bank accounts of Ukrainians released from captivity. Another 6.5 million hryvnias were received by the families of citizens illegally detained by Russia.
State financial assistance in the amount of 100 thousand hryvnia was received by 123 people released from Russian captivity. The same amount was transferred to 65 families of prisoners of war.
“The facts of the imprisonment of these persons as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine were established by the relevant commission under the Ministry of Reintegration,” the press service of the ministry said.
It is reported that in January and February 2023, the Ministry of Reintegration has already sent this financial assistance to 103 Ukrainians released from captivity.
Recall that the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak told reporters that the name of the captive shot by the Russians has not been officially established. The defender of Ukraine was killed after his words “Glory to Ukraine” and this was not a video.
On March 7, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, announced the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia. 130 Ukrainians returned home: 126 defenders and 4 defenders. Among them are fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the Border Guard Service and the GSTS (State Special Transport Service).
